What we fix

If it plugs in or charges up, bring it on by. Here's the bread and butter.

Hardware Repair

Screen's black? Fan sounds like a leaf blower? We'll crack it open and see what's what. Most times it's a loose wire, a tired battery, or a part that's quietly given up.

Software & Slowdowns

Computer acting squirrelly, taking ten minutes to open a browser, or popping up windows it shouldn't? We'll dig through the bits and bytes, clear out the gunk, and get it running like it used to.

Virus & Malware Removal

Got hit with one of those scary pop-ups telling you to call Microsoft? Don't. Bring it to us instead. We'll scrub it clean, lock the doors behind it, and show you what to watch for next time.

Data Recovery & Backup

Hard drive making clicking sounds, or a laptop that won't boot with twenty years of photos on it? We'll do our level best to get your files off safely, then help you set up a backup so it doesn't happen twice.

Wi-Fi & Network Setup

Wi-Fi spotty in the back bedroom? Internet dropping every time the microwave runs? We'll wrangle the cables, place the router right, and get your signal reaching the shed.

Custom Builds

Want something special? Gaming rig, video-editing tower, or a quiet little box for the office — we'll piece together a machine that'll last through the coldest winters and the longest LAN parties.

Don't see your problem?

If it's got a power button, we probably handle it. Give us a call and ask.

02 — What to expect

How it works

No appointment needed. Here's what a visit looks like.

  1. Bring it in

Stop by the shop on Pelham Street during open hours, or send us a service request and we'll be expecting you. Laptops, towers, all-in-ones — bring the power cord too if you've got it.

  2. We take a look

We'll ask you what's going on, poke around, and figure out what's wrong. Most of the time we can tell you the same day. We'll call before doing any work that costs money.

  3. Pick it up, fixed

When it's ready, we'll ring you. You pay when you pick up. We'll show you what we did and how to keep it from happening again.

03 — About the shop

The shop on Pelham

Computer Plus is a small shop, and that's on purpose. When you bring a machine in, the person who looks at it is the person who'll fix it and the person who'll hand it back to you. No call-center, no upselling, no sending your laptop off to who-knows-where.

We've been keeping Rhinelander's computers running for years — the same desktops, laptops, and home networks, year after year, customer after customer. If you've got a machine that's giving you trouble, we'd be glad to take a look.

05 — FAQ

Questions, answered

The stuff folks ask before they bring a machine in.

Do I need an appointment?
Nope. Just stop by during open hours — Monday through Wednesday, 9am to 3pm. If you'd rather give us a heads-up first, send a service request or give us a ring.
How much will it cost?
Depends on the job. We'll take a look, tell you what's wrong, and call you with a price before doing any paid work. No surprise bills.
How long does a repair take?
A lot of jobs go out the same day or the next day we're open. Bigger jobs — data recovery, ordered parts — can run longer. We'll give you a real timeline once we've had a look.
Will I lose my files?
We do everything we can to keep your data safe. Tell us upfront if there's irreplaceable stuff on the machine — photos, documents, taxes — and we'll plan around it.
Do you work on Macs?
Yes. Macs, Windows machines, even the occasional Linux box. If it's a computer, we'll give it a go.
Do you fix phones or tablets?
We focus on computers — laptops, desktops, all-in-ones. For phone screen repairs you're better off going somewhere that does them every day.
Can you help with my home Wi-Fi or printer?
Yep. Bring the router or printer in, or call us and we'll talk through it. Most of the time we can sort it out without a house call.
Do you help small businesses?
We do. If you've got a few computers at the office that need a once-over, a network that's giving you fits, or just nobody on staff who likes dealing with this stuff, give us a call.
What if my computer can't be fixed?
We'll tell you straight. If it's not worth the cost, we'll say so, and we can help you pick out what to replace it with. You won't pay for a repair we can't deliver.
Where are you, and when are you open?
416 S Pelham St, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Open Monday through Wednesday, 9am to 3pm. Phone: 715-362-0529.
